Fallout 76: Community Spotlight Article – Medic1556

Medic1556 is a Twitch content creator who has amassed an impressive 10.8k followers after getting his start streaming Fallout 76. We reached out this month to get to know the man behind the epic beard and chill streams.

When asked to describe his role in the community, Medic says “I’m a full-time content creator on Twitch that primarily focuses on the community aspect, helping new players, returning players, and even long-time veterans. I strive to be an outlet for information and a place where gamers can go to have their questions answered and connect with other players on their platform.” Even though Medic has made his streams a welcoming environment for new and returning players, he is very active in late game events for Fallout 76. “I specialize in end-game content, I’ve launched over 2300 nukes from the silos while other community members help. My purpose is to provide a busy server and maximize their experience of the game.” Of course, we highly recommend subbing to Medic1556’s Twitch channel. But if you are new to the Fallout 76 community, he’s giving away this tip for free: “Kill everything, scrap everything. Have patience and you will find others who are willing to help. Don't be afraid of seasoned players, watch content creators on Twitch and ask questions.”

Although it’s not the only game he actively streams, Medic1556 got his start on Twitch streaming Fallout 76. “Several other people suggested I try it out and I felt like I could create my own community that would embrace the same values I have formed while gaming.” It was an easy transition for Medic since he was already familiar with the Fallout universe. “Fallout 4 was my first of the Fallout series. I received it as a Christmas present and fell in love with it.”

For Medic, one of the main draws to the Fallout 76 community was that “they are always willing to help out another in need whether it'd be something in the game or as a friend outside of gaming or by just being supportive. That’s who they are, it's amazing. It draws like-minded individuals that are drawn into the apocalyptic world as a Lone Wanderer.” With such a strong connection to his cultivated community, Medic has since used his platform to give back. Most recently he was able to participate in the “Fallout for Hope Charity during the 2020 holiday season. It was for St Jude’s Hospital, it was a strong effort put together by multiple content creators and the amazing community that Fallout 76 has to offer.” The community has really grown over the last few years, large in part due to creators like Medic1556 who are willing to push goals and mobilize their followers for huge charity initiatives. Medic says that the biggest reward is the stories from the community itself. “Those who come in and say that my content or the game has helped them through their own difficult times. Whether in game or outside, it's given many the courage to progress past their comfort zone and into something they enjoy doing. Love seeing that.”
