Surviving is good, but thriving is even better.

The world of Fallout 76 goes far beyond the metal-clad walls of the Vault you've emerged from. Anything can happen when you’re in the right place at the right time, be it finding rare loot deep within a lost cave or having to take sides between two warring factions in the wasteland.

In this portion of our Fallout 76 Player’s Guide, we cover many of Appalachia’s regular (though often at times a tad irregular) happenings. Take them on solo or with your friends for rewards and of course, make some names for yourselves.

CHANGE APPALACHIA FOREVER IN QUESTS

Every manner of scavenger, survivor, scientist, saint and scallywag is vying for their own piece of Appalachia and are willing to sate your thirst for adventure if it will advance their cause. As you explore the region, you’ll encounter Settlers, Mothman Cultists, Secret Service from a local Vault and even Raiders with their own axe to grind in Fallout 76. Following the Wastelanders storyline, for example, you can take sides, complete quests and even open up new endgame rewards! What side you take could even lead to rare, faction-specific rewards, but be warned: choosing your allies could also mean choosing new enemies...

Continue the battle for Appalachia with the Steel Dawn and Steel Reign questlines, as the Brotherhood of Steel make their way into the region. Following extreme resistance and even schisms within their own ranks, your actions could define the future of the Brotherhood chapter.

Finally, Expeditions offer a new gameplay mode beyond Appalachia’s borders. Travel to The Pitt, a polluted industrial zone nestled in the remnants of Pre-War Pittsburgh, and assist the local Union faction in warding off a raider gang known as the Fanatics to unlock unique rewards.

MAKE A GRAND APPEARANCE AT EVENTS

Are you all about the here and now? Appalachia is teeming with Events available for all those who answer the call! Public Events spawn every 15-20 minutes (or on the hour in special cases) and offer rewards to all who participate. Join Public Events to complete challenges, possibly get your hands on some goodies and be a part of the community – what's not to like?

VAULT-TEC PLAYER TIP: Teamwork makes the dream work! Try joining a Public Events Team - the longer you work together, the more XP you'll earn from completing Public Events!

Mutated Public Events take the fun of ongoing Public Events and add special enemy modifiers to spice up the action. These Public Events are more challenging and only appear during set weeks, but if you and your friends are up to it, even more rewards (and bragging rights) await!

Daily Ops are repeatable, randomized scenarios for up to four players to team up and complete. With special enemy types and objectives to encounter in each run, Daily Ops favor the flexible – come prepared!

VAULT-TEC PLAYER TIP: Ammo dropped by enemies often matches the weapon you have equipped, so be sure to scrounge fallen foes to keep those magazines from running dry. Having trouble finding fallen foes in the wilderness? Turn on Corpse Highlighting in the game’s menu!

COMPLETE FALLOUT SEASONS FOR SPECIAL REWARDS

Fallout Seasons are limited-time events offering up to 100 ranks full of rewards for players to unlock! The best part? All you need to do to earn these ranks is rack up S.C.O.R.E.! Players accumulate S.C.O.R.E. by completing Daily and Weekly Challenges, as well as participating in Public Events and Daily Ops.

VAULT-TEC PLAYER TIP: Keep an eye out for special promotions like Double S.C.O.R.E. Weekends to earn tons of bonus S.C.O.R.E. and fly through the ranks. Just can’t wait to unlock the next reward? Players can purchase additional ranks from the active Season in exchange for Atoms.

BECOME A FALLOUT 1ST MEMBER AND GO EVEN FURTHER

Fallout 1st is a monthly membership for Fallout 76, offering bonus features such as a Survival Tent and Scrap Box. Active members also receive unique monthly items, exclusive Mutated Public Event rewards, Private Worlds, bonus Atoms and even access to S.C.O.R.E. boosters and Challenge Rerollers to use during the Season!
