We loved seeing your feedback and input on the recent Public Test Server on the quality-of-life improvements for early gameplay. We will bring the PTS back online in the upcoming weeks for more feedback, but in the meantime, we have an update for the live game headed your way next week!
Upcoming Update
Tuesday, July 18, at 10am ET we will bring Fallout 76 offline on all platforms to apply an update. This update will be smaller than our content patches and focuses on gameplay improvements and bug fixes. Patch notes will be available to read during maintenance.
New Challenge Event
Calling all Pioneer Scouts! This next challenge event is for you.
From July 25 to August 8, claim the Squirrel Scouts Backpack Skin for free in the Atomic Shop, and complete Challenges to earn new unique rewards! We’re doing things a little differently than you’re used to this time around - now you’ll have ten unique Challenges to complete anytime during the event duration.
Complete seven out of 10 of these Challenges to earn the new Squirrel Scout Backpack Flair. Going above and beyond and completing all 10 Challenges nets you the new Scrap Rat Backpack Mod.
Scrap Rat Backpack Mod: -90% weight reduction on Scrap and Components
If you miss out on the Scrap Rat Mod, don’t fret! After this challenge event is complete, it will be available for purchase for Gold Bullion in a future update.

Mark your calendars! Here’s a breakdown of upcoming Weekend Events for the remainder of July.
July 13 – 17, 12:00pm ET
Scrip Surplus: Earn up to double the amount of daily Scrip! (1,000 Scrip)
Double Mutations: Daily Ops events have two different Mutations to combat against but also net you twice the Daily Ops rewards!
July 18 – 25, 12:00pm ET
Mutation Invasion: Public Events at the top of the hour have mutated enemies! Take on this challenge to earn rare rewards, including Mutated Party Packs.
July 20 – 24, 12:00pm ET
Legendary Sale: 25% Off Weapons and Armor sold by the Purveyor. The Purveyor is located inside The Rusty Pick in the Ash Heap region.
July 27 – 31, 12:00pm ET
Hunt for the Treasure Hunter: Mole miner Treasure Hunters have surfaced all over Appalachia! Listen for their sounds and defeat them to claim their loot, including Treasure Hunter Pails! Alternatively, you can avoid conflict altogether by purchasing Empty Pails from Robot Vendors and crafting your own.
