Today, we’re excited to have a conversation with Fargassier!

A content creator/streamer who is making space for everyone in the Fallout community.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about what you do as a creator?

My name is Jason though most online know me as Fargassier. When folks see my name, they either get it right away or think that I am French. When I got back into content creation and streaming, I wanted to make sure that folks have a place to learn and laugh so having a fart joke as a name is a great way to make sure folks know that you aren’t taking yourself too seriously and here to have a good time.

What was your first introduction to Fallout? What do you love most about it?

My first introduction to Fallout was walking through Walmart after getting off work and reading the back of Fallout 3. I thought the game looked interesting and ever since that moment I have loved the franchise. The thing I love most about the series is the stories that are told by the environment and the characters that scatter the wasteland.

How did you get into content creation?

I started creating content back in 2009 after watching some creators make videos about Call of Duty: World at War. I am from a very small town where I can count on one hand of the folks who enjoyed gaming that I grew up with. I looked at content creation as a way to meet other folks that love gaming as much as I do.

What types of content do you enjoy making the most? Do you have a favorite video you've created?

I mainly create news and tip videos around Fallout 76 but have slowly been dipping my toes into creating videos on more games that I have enjoyed playing. Thankfully with the support of my community, I have been able to start jumping into doing game reviews.

How has the Fallout community shaped your experience as a creator?

I have been part of many communities over the years and by far the community around Fallout is one of the best and most welcoming to folks. I remember doing my first stream in Fallout 76, and someone came into chat teaching me a lot about what the game has to offer. I don’t think I would know as much as I do now if it wasn’t for the amazing community of players and creators in this franchise. Needless to say, I would be worse off without the amazing folks in the Fallout franchise.

Are there any standout moments or interactions with the Fallout community that have stuck with you?

Recently the wife and I got back from a fan celebration in West Virginia and there are so many amazing moments from that trip from meeting other Fallout fans and community members. The creativity of Fallout fans will never cease to amaze me because of all of the talented cosplayers and artists that pour their soul into the things that they create.

I also got to see how beautiful West Virigina really is, which helped me appreciate the amount of work that Bethesda put into recreating the state with such level of detail.

What are your goals for your channel over the next year? Are there any new types of content or creative directions you’re excited to explore?

The goal for next year on my channel is to continue to provide a place where folks can learn and remember that we are here to have fun. I would love to get into doing longer videos focused on survival games and challenges. As well I have a second channel that my wife and I are about to start as we move out to the country so I can have my gaming focused channel and also a channel that focuses more around being outside and living off the land, kind of like I am building a settlement in Fallout 4 without having anyone tell me that there is another settlement that needs my help. The funny thing is my wife is now addicted to Fallout 4 so the channel’s name is Good Neighbor Farms which makes me happy that she is now into a franchise that I love.

What tips do you have for someone who might want to get into content creation for Fallout 76?

If you are looking into getting into content creation one of the things I try to tell everyone is that remember at the end of the day you need to have fun because content creation can be a grueling process from everything that you are needing to do to potentially have the luck of your channel taking off. As a creator we all want our videos to be perfect but remember we all start somewhere and there is never a mistake but an opportunity to learn, as the saying goes perfection is the thief to creativity. Also, never compare yourself to another creator's success because everyone’s path is different and you never know what the universe has planned for you. If you ever want tips to do content creation or live streaming, I always tell folks they are more than welcome to email me or contact me because my communications are and always will be open. Something that I was taught from a young age is that a high tide raises all ships, so I will do whatever I need to do to try and help those who want to create.
